Mission Emanuel welcomed a group from all over the U.S. that included a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, and 4 physical therapist. They did excellent work with the community!

Mission Emanuel Medical Center
The new Medical Center was finished in June of 2009 to continue the work of pediatric consults, dental work and physical therapy. In 2010, an additional ministry, the Community Health Program began and in June of 2011 the ADR Early Intervention Program started.

Old Clinic
Before pictures of the clinic when it was housed in the Cielo school building. The ministry began in 1998 in Nazareth and in 2003 moved from Nazareth to Cielo. Since, then the ministry has been housed on our main campus in El Cielo.

Community Wide Trash Clean-Up
In March of 2010, the Community Health Program spent time cleaning up trash in the community to prevent the spread of Dengue and Malaria. Mosquitos lay their eggs in any small amount of water, which can include discarded tires, bottle caps, empty cans, etc.

Rehabilitation Center Dedication
In October of 2009, Anna Harper, a PT from Dallas, TX was present to dedicate the culmination of three years of work gathering funds and donations to complete the Rehabilitation Center at Mission Emanuel. Our therapy program benefits children with special needs.

Dental Trips
Each year Mission Emanuel hosts 1 to 2 dental trips. Doctors spend time working with the community – many of which have never been to a dentist before in their life.

Tetanus Vaccination Campaign
Every year the Dominican Republic along with many other Latin American countries participate in La Semana de Las Americas, a vaccination campaign to eliminate preventable childhood illnesses. This year the focus is on tetanus and polio.
